We are pleased to showcase our latest work at Al Rayan Bank, the UK's largest bank providing Sharia-compliant financial services, commissioned Apex to complete a Category B fit out of it's premises in Stratford Place, London, W1.

Representing the fourth major project completed for the client, this new space marks a strategic shift for Al Rayan, as it offers a smaller footprint compared to their previous centre and reflects the bank's commitment to hybrid working practices and a more agile approach to office design.

Client Brief

Transform the lower ground floor into an open-plan workspace by removing existing offices and installing glazed partitions and doors to create distinct zones: a kitchen/breakfast bar and an interactive breakout area, complete with a dartboard. The goal was to craft a dynamic and balanced environment that reflects the bank’s values of innovation and community engagement.

Key Features

A striking 6-metre-high indoor tree acts as a natural focal point, visually connecting the lower ground floor with the mezzanine level.
Custom circular upholstered seating wraps around the tree base, creating an inviting central lounge.
A series of individual acoustic booths offer privacy across the breakout zone.
Full decorative treatments and flooring with curved features and colour transitions to define various seating areas.
Upgraded lighting, including acoustic-absorbing fixtures, for enhanced ambiance and sound management.
New furniture throughout, plus flexible small tables and chairs positioned across textured carpet zones.

Project Result

Apex delivered a complete turnkey solution tailored precisely to the client’s brief. With a budget of nearly £250k, we ensured seamless project delivery from concept through to execution over seven weeks.
